January Newsletter

Dear friends and colleagues,

As 2017 kicks off, I have been taking time to look at our mission and why we do what we do. And what first comes to mind is: vacuum bags.
Yes. You read correctly.

Our company image has been built on just a few products (albeit great ones). Our green masks are easily recognizable. Ovens are new and fun to talk about. But vacuum bags, though not especially titillating or provocative, are perhaps the most emblematic of what Klarity does – we take a simple, useful tool and make it better.

One of the biggest problems with vacuum bags is that they wear down and lose air over time. Many people, myself included, first thought this was valve malfunction. However, it turns out that’s not usually the case. The biggest culprit of air-loss is that the bag material itself starts to break down and degrade from cleaning and repeated usage.

How did we fix this? By creating a vacuum bag that is more durable and a little thicker than others. We chose a superior-quality nylon, so it can withstand rigorous cleaning. It sounds simple, and it is, yet other vacuum bags continue to be flimsy and let air leach through the sides. So yes, we’ve made a better bag.

I look forward to our continued work together in the coming year, and I thank you for sharing your valuable time.

Best Wishes for a Happy New Year,

Peter Larson
